Travis Saunders Hi there!  My name is Travis Saunders, and I am pleased to bring you my favourite posts on Health and Clinical Research.  I post on the latest findings in obesity, exercise and nutrition research at Obesity Panacea.

  • Lithium in the Water: Scicurious of Neurotopia explains why dissolving lithium in our drinking water is not a good idea.
  • St John’s Wort – The Perfect Antidepressant, If You’re German: A Cochrane Review finds that St John’s Wort is more effective than placebo.  But when trials from German speaking countries are excluded, the effect disappears. Neuroskeptic helps make sense of it all.
  • Migraine and Vascular Disease: Jennifer Gibson at Brain Blogger explains why migraines accompanied by an “aura” suggest you may be at increased risk for cardiovascular disease.
  • Get fat, live longer???: A new Canadian study suggests that overweight individuals live longer than their “normal” weight peers. Does this mean we should all get fat to live longer?

That’s it for this week, see you again next Wednesday!

Travis
