  • For decades bacteria have been differentiated by their sizes and shapes, but for the most part morphology has not been thought to be medically important. This view is beginning to change.
  • Vaccines trump therapeutics every time. Three reasons for this include cost, coverage, and specificity.
  • Bacteria have many different ways of moving, including swimming, swarming, gliding, twitching, and floating. Many of these strategies are also connected to other intracellular processes.
