The amount of arthroscopic rotator cuff repairs being performed has skyrocketed in recent years. A new study examining the outcomes of two different rehabilitation programs following anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction was recently published in AJSM. In a past article, I discussed assessing and treating dysfunction of the gluteus medius. I reviewed an article from the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research and the author’s recommendations. In my opinion, one of the most challenging disorders of the shoulder to properly diagnose during the early stages is adhesive capsulitis, or frozen shoulder. Lateral epicondylitis, or tennis elbow, is one of my least favorite injuries. It can be disabling, nagging, and sometimes even relentless! A recent guest post from Dan Lorenz discussed immobilizing the shoulder in a position of external rotation following an anterior dislocation.
